In Scene 5, I didn't like it because Pachuco was being negative about being in solitary. Pachuco has no confidence in getting justice and Henry wouldn't let it get in his spirit.

Henry says this quote. Henry says it to Pachuco and he says it because he wants Pachuco to understand that he can't be punished for something that he didn't do.
Question:
Why does Pachuco have no hope in winning justice in the appeal?

I think that Pachuco has no hope in winning the appeal because he believes that the media has already decided that they {the zoot suiters} deserve to be punished for all the problems they have caused .
